How To Get Over The Post Holiday Blues

Oh krap,I know what you’re thinking.
It can’t seriously still just be the fourth day of the year, January isn’t over yet?!?—Christmas & New Years seemed to fly by before I could even finish that sentence buuuuut somehow we are only on the fourth day of the year. Clearly the post holiday blues have gotcha.
I feel your pain. You’re definitely not the only person feeling a bit of sadness coming off of time well spent with friends and family. Time away, though, has really allowed me to change my perspective on so many things. It has shifted my thoughts from constantly focusing on the things I don’t have, to focusing on the things in my life that I’m truly grateful for.
Even though, I’m sad to see my time away from the “real world” come to an end; I’m excited to see what 2019 has to offer and what I can offer it. Sometimes its not just about what you get out of something, but rather all the things you put into it. Being able to understand the gifts that I’m given has opened up this whole world of opportunity in my mind and I know I’ll be able to better utilize them as 2019 keeps rolling through. Here are some things to keep in mind as you set your sights on all 2019 has to offer.

Start with a new perspective

I always like to start fresh and what better time to do that than when a new year rolls around. I’ve come into January with a new perspective on my entire life & career goals and where I would want to see myself by the end of this year. I found myself growing from a lot of experiences in 2017 & in 2018 and I feel like I’m finding my footing again. My self-confidence is growing steadily and I feel ready to take on some challenges, but first….

Shop The Look:

Challenge yourself

Don’t just settle into your comfort zone, think outside the box, do things that you wouldn’t normally do; surprise yourself for crying out loud. Life shouldn’t always be lived inside your comfort zone, there is beauty in being uncomfortable and that’s just how you grow. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.

Take time for yourself

This is so important, probably even more important than going hard everyday. Making sure that you take time for yourself whether its an hour a day or a few hours a week is imperative to having a healthy spirit. It’s so important to take self-care seriously and put yourself first. If you’re burnt out that’s when motivation dies and being lazy starts to kick in. We want a constant flow of inspiration and drive so make sure you set time aside to relax and enjoy the things that destress you.

Love,
Tristen Zaryn
